Spain exceeds the European Union average in the application of Artificial Intelligence in business.

This a percentage that, although it may seem small, we in Shapelets value as it shows how companies have been able to recognize the potential of this technology in a short time and reflects the enormous growth margin that Artificial Intelligence has in Spain.

According to the National Observatory of Technology and Society (ONTSI), machine learning, through Big Data, is the most used technology by Spanish companies, with 4% application. This a percentage that, although it may seem small, we in Shapelets value as it shows how companies have been able to recognize the potential of this technology in a short time and reflects the enormous growth margin that Artificial Intelligence has in Spain.

In fact, according to the ONTSI report, although the use of Artificial Intelligence by companies is still little in Spain -with a 7% application- which exceeds the average of the European Union, of about 6% of companies.

Furthermore, according to the INE report from October 2021, 8.3% of Spanish companies used Artificial Intelligence in the first quarter of 2021, so the implementation of this technology in business seems to grow steadily. In addition, 11.1% of companies carried out Big Data analysis between 2020 and 2021, while it reached 8.5% between 2019 and 2020.

Consequently, we can affirm that businesses have realized data is one of the most valuable assets they have. As specified by a Cap Gemini study, 83% of businesses that rely on data can extract performance and monetize it. Therefore, Artificial Intelligence combined with Big Data is proving to be an extremely useful combination of technologies for business growth.

Other technologies used by Spanish companies.

Additionally, as per the ONTSI report, service robots, virtual assistants or chatbots, and natural language processing are some of the most used technologies by Spanish companies.

Thus, 3% of companies in our country use robots, machines with a certain degree of autonomy that are capable of operating in complex and dynamic environments. In some cases, these robots may need to interact with people, objects, or other devices, excluding their use in industrial automation applications.

Meanwhile, 2% of Spanish companies use virtual assistants or chatbots to serve their customers. This type of technology allows businesses and companies to automatically resolve doubts, queries, and problems that their users may have. In addition, chatbots allow you to identify patterns and detect problems that customers usually have to solve.

Finally, natural language processing is the third most applied technology by Spanish companies with 1%, a small percentage that, with a growing trend, reveals the importance that is being given to it.
