Predictive Maintence
#Terms
WHAT IS… ?
Predictive maintenance (PdM) refers to the detection of equipment faults before they occur to reduce unplanned outages and the associated costs. As an example, an estimated 90% of all power plant equipment failures can be attributed to small component failures which were probably preventable. One approach to reducing these failures is through the use of predictive maintenance methods.
HOW IS IT USED ?
Advanced machine learning is used in data systems to identify recurring patterns and anomalies for predictive maintenance. Using these patterns and anomalies as criteria, upcoming maintenance issues can be predicted, thereby saving time spent on troubleshooting. In certain scenarios, predictive maintenance checks can be made based on actual production cycle data, reducing the cost of downtime and increasing uptime.
